Admissions

Thank you for your interest in joining our school. Denmark Road High School is a selective grammar school for young women aged 11-16 with a co-educational Sixth Form.

Join us in Year 7

Each year we welcome 150 students into Year 7 from over 45 different primary schools. Students will sit an entrance test and those who achieve the required standard are able to apply for a place at DRHS. The entrance test is commonly known as the 11+. Students usually take this in the September of Year 6.

Further information about our school is available in our school Prospectus

Denmark Road High School does not have a catchment area, however we do have oversubscription criteria which are applied should we have more applications than we have places. For further details on our admission rationale and oversubscription criteria please CLICK HERE.

Admission enquires should be directed to the Admissions Officer, via email to admissions@denmarkroad.org.

If your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium funding, please CLICK HERE for information about our Shaping Futures provision for access to free Entrance Test familiarisation and KS2 support.

Developing literacy is key in any child's education and an important element of the admissions test. At Denmark Road we are committed to fostering a love of reading, we share with you here some recommended KS2 reads created by current students and teachers.

Join Us In-Year

If you are moving to the area or considering moving schools and wish your daughter to be considered for a place, she will need to sit an in-year admissions test. At Denmark Road the in-year admissions test we use is a CATS test. Results are profiled against the cohort of entry and equivalence of standard must be demonstrated.

Admission enquires for all students aged 11-16 years should be directed to the Admissions Officer, via email to admissions@denmarkroad.org, including in-year applications. You will be advised of the next testing opportunity and details of the process and our waiting list.

Policy for In Year Admissions
