Students secure excellent destinations with fantastic A Level results

Year 13 students and staff at Denmark Road High School are celebrating excellent results today. Nearly a third of all grades awarded were at the very top grades of A* and A. Mr Yau, Assistant Headteacher for Sixth Form was delighted to celebrate with students “I’m so proud of all our students and so pleased to share their successes with them today. They've worked exceptionally hard and I am delighted that they will now be able to pursue their next steps.”

A significant number of students achieved straight As; with three or more A levels at Grade A*/A. Ruby C (A*,A,A), who secured her place at Oxford, shared “I am feeling absolutely thrilled to have received the results I was hoping for today. Now that I have a confirmed place to study a course I adore at a university that seemed like an unlikely dream just last year, I am assured that hard work can pay off. However, this result would not have been at all possible without the unfailing support and enthusiasm of my teachers, so I would like to express immense gratitude to those who have invested so much in helping assure my future.”

Sarah W (A,A,A) added: “Results day went really well for me and that's a testament to the kind of place Denmark is. The environment and the support I have had has given me the chance to achieve what I have so I am really grateful for my two years here. I am looking forward to my next steps."

Aliya P (A*,A*,A*) who is looking forward to studying at Birmingham University said, “I am absolutely over the moon with my grades, and I am very thankful towards the staff at DRHS for supporting me endlessly over the last two years to achieve them! I am living proof that hard work and determination DOES pay off!”.

Headteacher Claire Giblin said “These fantastic results are a richly deserved reward for our dedicated, hard-working students. Our students are going on to study a wide array of degrees in fields as diverse as Medicine, Law, Computer Science, Psychology and Engineering. Others are going on to highly sought after degree apprenticeships with companies such as Airbus, Bishop Fleming and Hazlewoods. I am also delighted that the results today recognises the efforts of our teaching and support staff who have done so much to help and encourage them. We are proud of the achievements of our students during their time at Denmark Road Sixth Form”
