'Students make excellent progress to secure their chosen pathways'.
Year 13 students and staff at Denmark Road High School are celebrating excellent results today. Over a third of all grades awarded were at the very top grades of A* and A. Mr Yau, Assistant Headteacher for Sixth Form was delighted to celebrate with students “I’m so proud of all our students, they have worked so hard and today reap the rewards, it’s particularly pleasing to see those who have overcome personal challenges achieve their success today”.
A significant number of students achieved straight As; with three or more A levels at Grade A*/A. Angie Lin (A*,A*,A,A), who secured her place at Oxford, shared “I feel great, I’m feeling proud as a lot of hard work has gone into this and feeling very excited about what is next”. Lara Tidmarsh (A,A,A) will also take her place at Oxford, “I was pretty nervous waiting for this day but it’s all worked out well!”, as will Sarah Doughty (A*,A*,A*) who looks forward to studying Computer Science at Oriel, “I’m very pleased with my results! I am going to go and celebrate!”
Headteacher Claire Giblin said “These fantastic results are a richly deserved reward for our dedicated, hard-working students. Our students are going on to study a wide array of degrees in fields as diverse as Medicine, Law, Computer Science, Psychology and Engineering. Others, such as Sasha Fernandez (A*,A,B), are going on to highly sought after degree apprenticeships with companies such as Renishaw, Bishop Fleming and Lloyds Bank. I am also delighted that the results today recognises the efforts of our teaching and support staff who have done so much to help and encourage them. We are proud of the achievements of our students during their time at Denmark Road Sixth Form”
