‘GCSE performance continues to improve with 53.6% of grades awarded at Grades 9-8.’
Headteacher Claire Giblin said “Our Year 11 students have performed fantastically and achieved individual outcomes to be proud of in this year’s examinations. An astounding one third of all grades awarded were at the very highest grade 9, an amazing achievement for our students.”
“We estimate we will maintain our key Progress 8 figure to be over +1.0 this year – showing that our students have achieved over a grade better than their peers nationally with the same starting positions. It is testament to both the students’ hard work and the quality of both our teaching and pastoral support that we have seen such fantastic progress being made by the entire year group. They have demonstrated the importance of commitment and application in everything they do. We are all very proud.”
The GCSE success follow last week’s excellent A Level results, over 50% of the students in the Sixth Form achieved at least one grade A or A*. A fantastic 23% of students achieved at least straight As; with three or more A Levels at Grade A/A*. Headteacher Claire Giblin, said “This is an exciting time at the school as we continue to pursue excellence in everything we do.”
